General Questions

Hi there! Have some questions about Gillian Spiva Photography? Find the answers below.

  • Do you do destination weddings?

Absolutely! Traveling for weddings is one of my favorite parts of this job. I've had the privilege of photographing weddings in Illinois, Cancun, Colorado, and Montana, and I'd love to add your destination to that list. Whether you're planning a mountaintop ceremony, a tropical celebration, or something in between, I'm always excited to pack my bags.

To make destination weddings even more accessible, I waive travel fees for select locations throughout the year. If you're getting married somewhere you've always dreamed of, reach out and let's chat. We'll hop on a call, talk through your plans, and see if your destination qualifies while creating a photography experience that's tailored to your day.

  • What does payment look like?

I require a 33 percent deposit for Weddings with the remainder due 2 months prior to wedding day.

For all other sessions I require a 50 percent deposit with the remainder due two weeks prior to your session date.

  • Do I receive all the photos at the end of the shoot?

Each session includes a guaranteed minimum number of professionally edited color images based on the session type. I often deliver more than the minimum because I can't help but include all of my favorites, along with a selection of black-and-white edits. For example, a 30-minute family session includes at least 30 professionally edited color images.

Your final gallery will be delivered via email within 4–6 weeks of your session date.

  • Do you have a studio space?

Yes! I have access to a beautiful natural-light studio that's available for all session types. We'll simply coordinate a date that works for both you and the studio before finalizing your booking. It's the perfect space for boudoir, maternity, branding minis, modern couples sessions, and smaller family sessions.

For larger families, full branding sessions, or engagement sessions, I love photographing in The Opal Room. Its spacious, versatile design provides plenty of room to create a gallery that's both timeless and full of personality.

  • What's the best way to recommend you to someone else?

If you love your photos, the best way to support my small business is by sharing them! Tag me when you post on social media, tell your friends and family about your experience, or send them my website if they're looking for a photographer.

Referrals truly mean the world to me. As a small business, most of my bookings come from wonderful clients who share their experiences, and I can't thank you enough for helping my business continue to grow. If someone is ready to book, feel free to send them my website, Instagram, or email. Every recommendation is appreciated more than you know.
